Mein Weg zur Tusche
1972 wurde ich, Xenia von Maltzan, in Berlin geboren. Nach dem Abitur habe ich 6 sehr kreative Monate in den USA verbracht und wurde dort von Anne Neely unterrichtet. Solange ich zeichne, hatte das Zeichnen von besonders realistischen Bildern für mich den größten Reiz. Und die Darstellung der Schönheit und Einfachheit der Natur ist für mich eine große Herausforderung.Seit Sommer 2006 studiere ich bei Rita Böhm die Technik des Sumi-E, der japanischen Tuschemalerei . Dabei entstehen trotz weniger, reduzierter Striche sehr lebendige, ausdrucksvolle Darstellungen. Rita hat mir sowohl die Werke und Techniken der großen japanischen und chinesischen Meister näher gebracht, als auch Grundlagen und Techniken gezeigt. Ein wichtiger Aspekt eines interessanten Bildes ist die Komposition, die ich bei Ihr immer wieder übe. So konnte ich meinen eigenen Sumi-E-Stil entwickeln.
Im November 2007 habe ich meine ersten Tuschebilder in einer Ausstellung gezeigt. Sie hingen im Robert-Koch-Institut einer Bundesbehörde im Norden Berlins.
My way to ink-painting
In 1972, I, Xenia von Maltzan was born in Berlin. After the Abitur, I spent 6 months in the United States, where I had a creative time and was taught by Anne Neely in drawing. Since I am drawing, the biggest interest lay in the drawing of realistic images. To show the beauty and simplicity of nature is my intention.Since summer 2006, I am taking part of the Sumi-E-classes of Rita Böhm, learning all about japanese ink painting. With this technique, only few, reduced strokes give birth to lively and expressive paintings. Rita showed me the Sumi-E- paintings of chinese and japanese masters as well as the fundamentals and techniques of Sumi-E-painting. The composition of the pictures is the most important thing and makes a picture interesting, which I am practicing again and again. This way, I developed my personal Sumi-E-style.
In november 2007, I had an exhibition of my first ink-paintings in Berlin. They were hanging in the Robert-Koch-Institute, a public institution in the north of Berlin.
